May 12, 2017:

  • Congratulations to the following members of the girls track team for being recognized as first team all league. Giulia Pezzolla in the 800 and mile, Amanda Fulcher in the intermediate hurdles, Alyssa Robalino in the long jump, Caitlyn Blake in the javelin, Kira Adams in the shot put, Susane Morozewicz in the 400 and Claudia Engels, Amanda Fulcher, Giulia Pezzolla, Julia Brubaker, Madison Fallacara, and Susanne Morozewicz in the 4x400. Way to go girls!
     

May 2, 2017:

  • Congratulations to the boys and girls track teams. The boys captured their 7th consecutive league title last night, and the girls earned their 4th consecutive undefeated league title. Great job to all!

April 27, 2017:

  • Congratulations to the girls track team for defeating Secaucus and Leonia yesterday to finish the regular season undefeated at 7 -0. Some highlights from the meets were Alyssa Robalino running 12.7 in the 100 and triple jumping 33' 3 1/4, Taylor Sanchez winning the long jump with a leap of 15'6 1/4 and the high jump clearing 4'10. Kelly Weckstein running 12:40 in the two mile. Giulia Pezzolla winning the mile and jumping 33'7 1/2 to win the triple jump. Caitlyn Blake winning the javelin and discus with throws of 117'5" and 91'4". And Kira Adams throwing 33'1 1/4 in the shot put.    Congratulations ladies and best of luck in the league championship meet on Monday!
     

April 4,2017:

  • Congratulations to the girls track team for their first league win of the year over Ridgefield yesterday. The girls won 138-2. Leading the team to victory were seniors Caitlyn Blake and Taylor Sanchez  and sophomores Madison Fallacara and Giulia Pezzolla. Caitlyn took first in two of her events and third in another.  Taylor took first in three of her events and third in another. Madison took first in two of her events and second in her other two events. Giulia won three of her events and finished second in her fourth. Some other highlights were junior pole vaulter Hanna Song clearing 7'6, sophomore Arianna Lombardi throwing 89'5 in the jav and 32'1 in the shot, and the underclassmen 4 by 4 defeating the senior 4 by 4 led by freshman Gizette Perez leading off the race in 64 seconds. Good job ladies!
     

February 13, 2017:

  • The bowling team competed in the North 1A state sectional Saturday at Bowler City.  After winning 5 straight titles, the team finished second this year to earn its 7th straight bid to the state championship.  The team was led by sophomore Michael Lavell with a series of 580.  Senior Tyla D'Andrea had the high game of 245.  The team will look to capture its second state championship on Friday at Bowlero Carolier Lanes in North Brunswick, NJ.
     
  • The lyndhurst high school ice hockey team won its first round league playoff game 4-3 this past weekend 4-3 against Wayne Valley. Junior Matt Tomko and sophomore Sean Leonard led the way, Tomko with a shorthanded goal, while Sean Leonard added the game winning assist.  Their next game is this Wednesday 6pm at the ice vault in Wayne in the league semis vs  Ramapo
     

February 3, 2017:

  • The bowling team clinched their 6th straight league championship yesterday behind senior Ryan Donohue with a 257 and senior James Podolski who threw three strikes in the 10th frame to allow Donohue to close it out. Seniors Tyla D'Andrea and Naomi Ramos chipped in with the win. The seniors graduate winning 66 straight matches and the win streak is now 101. D'andrea and Ramos will compete tomorrow morning for the girls state sectional individual  title at Bowler City at 9AM.
     

February 2, 2017:

  • The bowling team won a record 100th straight league match Tuesday behind an outstanding effort by team captain Ryan Donohue who had games of 279, 277, and 235 for a 791 series and an average of 264 per game on the day.  Senior Tyla D'Andrea continued her outstanding season and added a pair of 203 games.  James Podolski chipped in another 203 and a 215.  Freshman Troy Villani had a great day as well adding a 233 and two 190 games. They now have the team high game and team high series for the season. The team has the longest current winning streak in New Jersey in any sport and will conclude their regular season Thursday against Becton. The team is looking to finish another season undefeated and claim its 6th straight league championship.  
     

January 30, 2017:

  • The JV ice Hockey team lost two tough games this weekend 4-2 to Ridgewood and 3-1 to Tenafly. but Ryan Meglio scored his first jv goal in the 4-2 loss.  Their next game is at Kearny on Wednesday.  The varsity ice hockey team won two big games this weekend. 3-2 against Pascack Valley, -matt Tomko and Sean Leonard helped lead the way with an assist each  On Saturday they beat Tenafly 5-1. Matt Tomko and Sean Leonard had a goal and assist each.  The team continues its season Monday at Jefferson and Friday at home against Mountain Lakes.
     

January 27, 2017:

  • The bowling team had its closest match of the season yesterday against Hasbrouck Heights. After losing the first game by only 3 pins despite senior Tyla D'Andrea's 258, the team rallied game 2 behind D'Andrea again with a 215 and senior Ryan Donohue's 200.  D'Andrea again saved the day game 3 with a 246. Tyla's series of 714 is the 2nd highest girls series in Lyndhurst history. It also ranks among the top 10 for boys series. D'Andrea's heroics all day saved the match and moved the team to 14-0 on the season. The win streak is now at 99 in a row. The bowling team will go for its 100th straight league win on Tuesday against Secaucus at Wallington Lanes.  Come down and support your golden bears bowling team and witness history!
     
  • Greetings from poolside! The Boys and Girls Swim teams both dominated Hasbrouck Heights. Whoooooo! Great performances by our senior ladies, Ivy Carbone, Jillian Cyril, Kayla Baretto, Ashley Francis, Cierra Wartel and Camilla Capurro as well as our senior men, Zach Dembowski, Matt Accordino, Myko Perevicious, and Paolo Turano. (Shout out to our missing senior, Amanda Marek... feel better!) Great Job by all. 
     

January 25, 2017:

  • The bowling team won their closest and most intense match of the season yesterday. After losing game 1 by only 5 pins despite Ryan Donohue's game of 269 and James Podolski's 200, the team then rallied to win game 2.  They got out to a huge lead game 3 which diminished as the game went on.  Coming down to the 10th and final frame Podolski threw three strikes in the 10th to all but ice the win.  Donohue sealed it with another big game of 259 to lead the team and continue the undefeated season.  Senior Tyla D'Andrea and freshman Troy Villani added some great games to the win as well.  The team is now 12-0 on the season and the win streak is at 97 in a row.  They will bowl Wood-Ridge today at 4PM after Monday's cancellation. 
     

January 24, 2017:

  • Athlete of the Week 1/16-1/22:  Swim- Sean Murphy, Sara Attia; Boys Basketball-Paul Cimicata; Girls Basketball- Makenzie McMillan; Bowling-James Podolski; Cheer- Anna Henning; Ice Hockey- Conor McKeon and Wrestling- Jarrett Weber
     

January 23, 2017:

  • The bowling team brought the Bergen County championship back to Lyndhurst on Saturday afternoon.  This is their 3rd title in 4 years.  Trailing the leader by almost 200 pins through the first three games of qualifying despite senior James Podolski's morning set of 620, the team faced a tough afternoon.  Regrouping for the afternoon the team was able to chase down the leaders and explode the last game for the high team game of the tournament.  Their 6 game total blew away the group 1/2 contenders by more than 200 pins.  Senior Ryan Donohue, whose 3 afternoon games totaled 695 was the high series of the day by any bowler in any group. After a rough start, he averaged 224 for the final 4 games to lead the comeback.  Podolski had the best day on the team consistently leading them and averaging over 200 for the day.  His six game total was 1231.  Freshman Troy Villani had a breakout day and averaged 210 in his four games.  Junior Pablo Maldonado averaged 203 in his four games and sophomore Michael Lavell added a 222.  Seniors Naomi Ramos and Tyla D'Andrea and sophomore Eli Fitzsimons added to the win.  The comeback kids face Wood-Ridge today at 4PM at Wallington Lanes as they continue their quest to an undefeated season and 100 wins in a row.
     
  • The ice hockey team suffered a tough loss on Sunday night to St Joes but it was not the same this past Friday night.  On senior night the ice hockey team put together an outstanding effort and beat Pascack Valley 4-2. Junior captain matt Tomko lead the way with a goal and assist while junior josh Anderson put the game away with his first goal of the season to make the score 4-2.  Come out and support the team Friday at sport o rama at 9 pm when we rematch wth Pascack Valley or Saturday night at the ice house at 5:15 when we meet Tenafly.  We would love love your support!
     

January 20, 2017:

  • The LHS Boys and Girls Swim teams both triumphed against Garfield on Thursday.  Fearless head coach, Mr. Frew battled the warm conditions in the pool, a severe cold with the sniffles and sat through Jury Duty this week, but still had the team mentally and physically prepared. Kudos to Coach Frew. To Infinity and Beyond!! The girls won 102 - 66.  Some first place finishes  by Misha Seo in the 200 IM, Kiara Acta in the 50 Free, and a bunch of great relay teams! Great efforts by all but especially Jillian Tkaczyk in her 100 Free, Alexandra Phillips in the Breaststroke and Sara Attia in the backstroke.  Keep on Trucking ladies! The boys won 118.5 - 51.5.  Some outstanding first place finishes were by Matheus Sales in the 200 I.M. and 100 Breast and Zach Dembowski in the 100 Free.  Gutsy performances were had by many but most notably by Sinan Fidan in the 200 Free and the 400 Free Relay team of Kerem "The Boogie" Urgulu, Sean Murphy, Konrad Skwara and Arda "The GOAT" Orun.  Great job men, Crushing It!
     
  • The bowling team swept St. Mary's yesterday after a monstrous effort by senior co-captain James Podolski who led the squad with scores of 250, 216 and 206 for a 672 series with no open frames.  Senior co-captain Ryan Donohue joined in the effort with scores of 226 and 206.  Senior Tyla D'Andrea added a 196 and freshman Troy Villani came off the bench to throw 5 straight strikes and also led jv with a 224.  The team is 11-0 on the season and will look to recapture it's Bergen County boys title tomorrow at Bowler City in Hackensack at 830AM.
     

January 18, 2017:

  • The bowling team defeated Wallington yesterday behind the strength of its seniors.  Leading game 1 with a score of 268, senior James Podolski now holds the high game in the NJIC Meadowlands Division.  He followed it up with a 198 and a series of 626.  Senior co-captain Ryan Donohue continues his quest for North Jersey bowler of the year with a series of 665 and games of 222, 246, and 198.  Ryan is currently out averaging the league by almost 20 pins per game.  Seniors Tyla D'Andrea and Naomi Ramos, who finished 6th individually at the bergen county girls tournament this past Saturday added some help in the win.  The teams win streak now stands at 95 in a row and they are 10-0 on the season.  They will be back in action on Thursday at 4PM at Wallington Lanes.

January 11, 2017:

  • The bowling team swept Paterson Charter yesterday with another strong effort from senior co-captain Ryan Donohue.  After taking over the high series category on Monday he outpaced himself by throwing games of 236, 256, and 243.  He is currently second in average in North Jersey.  He received help in the win from senior James Podolski who had scores of 222 and 232.  JV continued their win streak as well behind strong games of 234 by sophomore Michael Lavell and 221 by junior Pablo Maldonado.  Sophomore Campbell Donovan got his first start and proved to be pivotal in the win.  The varsity team is 9-0 on the season.  They have a bye on Thursday and will be back in league action a week from today.  Seniors Tyla D'Andrea and Naomi Ramos will compete for the Bergen County Girls title on Saturday at 9AM at Bowler City in Hackensack.
     

January 10, 2017:

  • Athlete of the week 1/3 to 1/8:  Boys Basketball- Michael D'Alia; Girls Basketball- Angelina DeCoro; Bowling Amanda Markek; Ice Hockey- Josh Anderson; Dance/Cheer- Gabriela Santos; and Swim-Jared Gabriel
     
  • The bowling team bowled a close match against Becton yesterday.  The team won game 1 behind senior Ryan Donohue who bowled a 236 and senior Naomi Ramos with a 194.  Game 2 went to Becton despite Donohue's 259 game.  Down over 50 pins halfway through game 3, freshman Troy Villani came off the bench to throw 6 straight strikes and spark the rest of the team to the game 3 win with Donohue adding a 217 and senior James Podolski adding 209.  Villani came in clutch while Donohue remained steady in the anchor spot.  Donohue now leads the league in average, high series, and high game.  With the win over Becton, the team remains in first place in the league as well as undefeated on the season.  Halfway through, the team is 8-0 and the win streak stands at 93.  They begin their second half today at 4PM against Paterson Charter.
     

January 9, 2017:

  • Jv ice hockey team won its two games last week 1-0 against Paramus Catholic and Friday against Pascack valley 10-3.  Varsity ice hockey tied old tappan 5-5. Matt Tomko had a goal, and Sean Leonard added an assist.  They both have their next games Friday at the ice house. Jv 3:30 vs old tappan and varsity 5:15 vs Jefferson. Come out and support!
     

January 6, 2017:

  • The bowling team swept Secaucus yesterday behind the efforts of senior captain Ryan Donohue who had scores of 252, 223 and 201. Senior Naomi Ramos added a 210 and a 191. Tyla d'andrea had a 192 and james podolski added a 193. The junior varsity team also swept with great games by freshman Troy Villani who had scores of 224 and 209. Sophomore Michael Lavell added a 235 and Eli Fitzsimons had a career high 205. Varsity moves to 7-0 on the season and extends their league match streak to 92 in a row.  The team will compete tomorrow in the New Year Team Challenge at Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park at 9AM.
     

January 5, 2017:

  • Congratulations to the wrestling team on a hard fought win over Leonia last night.  Giving up 5 forfeits and down 30 points to start the match, the golden bears rallied with key pins from Jarrett weber, Brandon vitacco, Ryan fernandez, Christian campana, Victor jorge, jordan DeAbreu, and Nick Fernandez, as well as  a key major decision from Michael carrino.  Come out and support the team at our first home match tomorrow night vs Garfield at 7pm.
     

January 4, 2017:

  • The bowling team continued its undefeated season in its 2017 opener against hasbrouck heights yesterday. Behind seniors Ryan Donohue who came out strong with a 258 and a 219, and Tyla D'Andrea who had scores of 203, 197, and 194, the bowling team swept Hasbrouck Heights to move to 6-0 on the season. Seniors Naomi Ramos (184) and James Podolski (198) added to the win. Junior Pablo Maldonado came off the bench to add 180. The bowling looks to continue its win streak on Thursday when they face Secaucus.

January 3, 2017:

  • The bowling team opens up 2017 with a match today against Hasbrouck Heights.  After starting the season 5-0, the team will look to continue its undefeated season and defend their league title.  Their quest to do this starts today at 4pm at Wallington Lanes.  Come out and show your support.

December 21, 2016:

  • Greetings from Poolside! The LHS boys and girls swim team braved the hot and humid conditions in the Lyndhurst Community Pool and defeated New Milford.  The Girls won 124 to 45.  Great individual performances by Alexa Torres and Ana Galan in the 200 IM, Kiara Acta and Misha Seo in the 50 Free and 100 Backstroke. Great Job Ladies! The LHS boys team won 111 to 48.  Great performances by Arda Orun in the 200 Free and Kerem Urgulu in the 100 Fly aided in this boys win.  Shout out to Konrad Skwara who crushed the 500 free. I'm looking forward to seeing him swim again!  Nice Job men!
     
  • In a nail biter, the bowling team beat North Arlington yesterday to keep their win streak alive. After losing the first game despite Donohue's 204, D'Andrea's 194 and Podolski's 191, the team rallied the next game to win behind Podolski's 236, D'Andrea's 191 and Donohue's 194. Forcing a game 3 to decide the winner, the team bowled their best game of the season to date rallying behind senior captain Ryan Donohue with a 257 and senior standout Tyla D'Andrea's 238. Senior co-captain James Podolski added a 191 in the game 3 win. The team is now 5-0 on the season and has won 90 matches in a row. The team's league competition will resume after the break on January 3rd when they face Hasbrouck Heights in their quest to 100 wins in a row.

December 20, 2016:

  • The bowling team swept Wood-ridge yesterday to move to 4-0 on the season.  Senior Ryan Donohue led all scorers with high games of 224 and 246.  Senior James Podolski added another good series with games of 189, 190, and 223.  Naomi Ramos chipped in a 197 and Tyla D'Andrea added a 191. The team faces its biggest rival North Arlington today at Wallington Lanes at 4PM.  Come out and support the biggest match of the season and be a part of the quest to 100 wins in a row.  The team currently has 89 wins in a row. Bear cave, be there !
     

December 19, 2016:

  • Jv varsity team went 1-1 this weekend with a win against Kearny Friday 3-2. Conor McKeon with a goal.  Saturday tough loss to river dell 2-1.  Next game vs Paramus Catholic Friday 3:30 at Ice House. Then December 26 vs Watchung Hills 4:15 at secaucus and December 27 vs Fair Lawn at secaucus at 4:15. Varsity team suffered two tough losses 5-2 to Clifton and 4-2 to Passaic Valley. Next game will be January 2 against Pequannock 6:30 at Ice Vault. Matt Tomko had 2 goals on the weekend. Kyle Bouteloupt 1 assist.

December 16, 2016:

  • The bowling team swept St. Mary's yesterday with senior James Podolski leading the attack.  With games of 194, 204, and 234, he helped his team on their quest to 100 wins in a row.  Senior Ryan Donohue chipped in a 218 and a 206.  Senior Tyla D'Andrea also added a 203 and a 190.  Freshman Troy Villani had a breakout day bowling a 224 and a 196 on JV and bowling the third game on varsity he added a 221 to the win over St. Mary's.  The team is 3-0 this season and is back in action on Monday against Wood Ridge.

December 15, 2016:

  • The bowling team swept Wallington on Tuesday afternoon. Ryan Donohue had 3 games over 200 with scores of 238, 209, and 236.  Naomi Ramos also chipped in a 235 game.  The jv team showed their dominating power with the highest team game of the season and impressive scores from Pablo Maldonado with a 255, freshman Troy Villani with a 213, sophomore Michael Lavell with a 221 and sophomore Eli Fitzsimons with a 180.  Lavell also had a 201 on varsity.  The team will face Secaucus today in their quest to be 88-0.  Wallington Lanes, 4PM
     

December 14, 2016:

  • LHS athlete of the week for the week of December 4-11:  > Girls basketball. - Uxia Parada; Boys basketball -Steven Dittamo; Wrestling -Victor Jorge; Ice Hockey -Kyle Bouteloupt ;  Boys bowling-Pablo Maldonado; Girls bowling-Naomi Ramos ; Cheer-Marylysis Perez ; Boys swimming -Justin Kidchob; and Girls swimming -Kiara Acta
     
  • The ice hockey team won its varsity game vs fair lawn last night 6-2.  Key contributions came from sophomore Kyle Bouteloupt with 2 goals and an assist. Junior captain Matt Tomko added 2 assists, junior Josh Anderson had an assist.   Freshman Conor Mckeon cracked the line up and delivered a hard hit late in the third period for his first varsity action. Next up for the team.  Varsity Friday at Clifton 7:40pm at Floyd hall. Sunday at ice house vs Passaic valley 5:15pm. Jv Friday against Kearny 3:30 at ice house and Saturday 7:45pm vs River dell at ice house.

December 13, 2016:

  • The bowling team competed in the North Jersey Singles Classic over the weekend. On the boys side Ryan Donohue led the team with an 8th place finish out of 109 competitors and an average of 204. He has qualified to the semifinals every year since he was a freshman. Pablo Maldonado finished in 25th.  On the girls side senior Naomi Ramos finished in 21st and Tyla D'Andrea in 28th out of 65 competitors. The team is back in league action today against Wood-Ridge and continues their quest to 100 wins in a row. Come to Wallington Lanes at 4PM to watch them compete for win number 87.
     

December 12, 2016:

  • The lyndhurst ice hockey jv team continued its strong play with a 1-0 win on Friday against Tenafly to raise their  record to 2-0-2 on the season. They continue their season this Friday vs Kearny at the ice house 3:30 and Saturday with a game against River dell at the ice house 7:30pm Varsity team lost two tough games to northern highlands and old tappan. Their next games are tonight, Monday at Floyd hall 7;40pm vs fair lawn, Friday vs Clifton at Floyd hall 7:40pm and Sunday at the ice house vs Passaic valley 5;15pm
     

December 9, 2016:

  • The bowling team opened their season with a sweep against Paterson Charter. The team was led by senior co-captain Ryan Donohue who had 3 games over 200 and a series over 650. Other nice scores were added by Naomi Ramos who had a 207 and a 211. Senior Tyla D'Andrea had a 219 and James Podolski and Pablo Maldonado chipped in for the win. The team's win streak now stands at 86-0 and are back in league action next Tuesday against Wood-Ridge. The team will compete Saturday at the FDU singles championships at Parkway Lanes at 9AM.
     

December 5, 2016:

  • The bowling team opened their season on Saturday at the Tom Irwin Memorial Classic.  The team had a great showing falling just short of first place and finishing third.  Senior captain Ryan Donohue finished 3rd individually among over 110 bowlers with a series of 673.  Senior Tyla D'Andrea finished 4th individually among over 50 bowlers with a series of 563.  Other nice games were added by senior captain James Podolski with a 192 and a 213.  Sophomore Michael Lavell added a 221.  Senior Naomi Ramos bowled a nice game of 178.  The team was ranked 6th in North Jersey in the preseason polls and will look to defend multiple titles this upcoming season.  Their first league match is Thursday at 4PM at Wallington Lanes as they open up against Paterson Charter and begin their quest to 100 wins in a row.  Come out and witness history in the making !
     

December 2, 2016

  • Remember the LHS boys and girls swim team? I Member them...The LHS Boys Swim team started the season off great with a 116-53 win over Secaucus. Some standout swimmers were the 200 yd medley team of Paolo Turano, Jorge Carillo, Bryan Sousa and Max Guo which took first as well as Matheus Sales placing second in the Breaststoke.  Gutty performances were also shown by Myko Perevicious, Zack Dembowski, and Kerem Ugurlu. Good job men!  The LHS girls squeaked out a win smaller than the back seat of a Red Toyota Prius. The girls triumphed 85-84.  Some outstanding girl swimmers were Kiara Acta crushing it in the 50 Free, Emma Caamano dominating in the 100 Free, and the uber team of Acta, Arianna Flores, Ana Galan and Carlie Mullins taking the 200 Free Relay.  Other great performances by Alexa Torres in the 100 Fly and Amanda Marek in the 100 Free.  Super Job Girls!  The next meet is next Thursday, Home against Rutherford.  Come support us!
     

November 28, 2016:

  • Ice hockey team opened their season this past weekend with a win against Oratory prep. Junior matt Tomko scored a goal and had an assist, sophomore Kyle Bouteloupt had 2 assists, while sophomore Sean Leonard had 2 goals and 2 assists in the win.  They suffered a tough loss at the hands of Northern Highlands Sunday with Sean Leonard adding an assist in the game.  They continue their season on Friday at Mackay ice arena vs Tenafly and St joes on Saturday at the ice house. please come out and support the ice hockey team

November 22, 2016:

  • Ice Hockey Team season starts their season this  Saturday Night 6;30pm at the Ice House when the team takes on Oratory prep.  Come support the ice Hockey team!

  • Congratulations to boys soccer players.  1st team all league. NJIC Liberty:  Vincent Ditonto; Antony Oliveira; Flavio Barrios.  2nd team all league NJIC Liberty:  Doug Dasilva; Raymond Valenzuela; Gino Glover; Adrian Baranowski.  All league NJIC Liberty honorable mention Nick Pacheco.  And a special congratulations to All Bergen County 3rd team.   • Start forming your volleyball team! Yes,  the volleyball tournament sponsored by girls soccer is coming up quickly. This year's tournament will be November 16th. Teams will consist of 5 students and one teacher/ coach/ staff member. Please email Coach Hykey as soon as possible with your team to secure your spot. It costs $5 per player to enter or $30 a team. You can leave your team's payment in her mailbox in the main office but be sure to properly mark your envelope and email her when you put it in there. Questions? October 21, 2016:

  • Congratulations to the girls varsity soccer team for their 8-0 win over Ridgefield. Grace Cappiello led the golden bears with 2 goals and 2 assists. Mia Luna, Amanda Fulcher, Kelsie Kearns, Giulia Pezzolla, Gabby Carrion and Gianna Fallacara also scored a goal. Kearns and Pezzolla had 2 assists each and Jen Wartel and Mia Luna added an assist. The defense earned their 9th shut out on the season. Way to go ladies. 

October 19, 2016:

  • Congratulations to the girls varsity soccer team for their 8-0 victory over Queen of Peace yesterday. Kristy Arias and Karlee Yallo scored their first varsity goals helping the girls to the victory. Amanda Fulcher had 3 assists and a goal and Giulia Pezzolla had two goals while Kelsie Kearns had 2 assists. Mia Luna added a goal and an assist. Gabby Carrion and Jen Wartel also scored a goale each to round out the scoring. Wartel added an assist as did Claudia Engels. The defense posted another shut out behind keeper Izzy Castagnetti. Way to go girls.

October 14, 2016:

  • Congratulations to the girls varsity soccer team for their over time win against Midland Park. Giulia Pezzolla scored the opening goal and Amanda Fulcher won the game again two minutes into over time. Fulcher and Olivia Cairns had an assist each as well. Good job ladies.

October 12, 2016:

  • Congrats to the Boys' and Girls' cross country programs for their strong showing at the NJIC cross country League Championship Meet on Monday. The Girls' team became undefeated league champs for the first time in 28 years by winning the NJIC Colonial Division League championship meet. The girls did so by crushing the competition by placing four girls in the top ten. The girls were led by Freshman Gizette Perez, Senior Lindsay Cirne, Juniors Megan Rudden, Kelly Weckstein, Alexis Gerbasio, Adriana Liberato, and Sophomore Jamie Connors. The boys varsity team also won the NJIC Colonial Division League Meet by placing  five runners in the top 12 to cement their third league meet victory in a row. The boys were led by Seniors Xavier Locke, Matt Accordino, and Mykos Perevicius, Juniors Andrew Ellis, Billy Weckstein, Giancarlo Sirio, and Ethan Hughes. And in other highlights, congrats to Paolo Turano and Krissy DeRobertis for winning their respective NJIC all divisions JV races and to Freshman Matthew Madonna for taking first place in the NJIC all divisions Freshman Boys' race. Congrats again on a job well done.
     
  • Congratulations to the girls varsity soccer team for defeating New Milford 2-1 yesterday. Gabby Carrion put the girls on the board in the 7th minute on an assist from Giulia Pezzolla. Mia Luna set up Grace Cappiello for the game winning goal. Great work ladies.

Fulcher had two goals and Pezzolla was involved in every goal- scoring one and assisting on both of Fulcher's. Mia Luna assisted on Pezzolla's goal. The defense led by Izzy Castagnetti recorded their 6th shut out of the season. Congratulations ladies.

  • The boys soccer team won their first county game on Wednesday by defeating higher seeded Hackensack 2-0 @ Hackensack.  A goal from Raymond Valenzuella set up by Flavio  Barrios was the lone scoring in the first half. In the second half of the game with the score 1-0 Lyndhurst, and both teams exchanging chances, Lyndhurst goalkeeper Gino Glover made a point blank save on Hackensack.  That in turn sent Lyndhurst up to field where Vincent Ditonto put away the game by scoring his team leading 13th goal on a pass by Adrian Baranowski.  Gino Glover made 8 saves to give the golden bears their first bergen county tournament win in many years. The boys are now 8-2-1 and are ranked 21st in north jersey and third in the state section. They play their next opponent bergen charter today at home  4pm and their next county tournament game this weekend at bergen catholic.  We would love to see some of you at our games, so if you can , make it out to our games!

September 29, 2016:

  • Congratualtions to the Lyndhurst Girls XC team. The girls had a big day yesterday with wins over Glen Rock and Harrison. The girls were led by strong performances from Gizette Perez, Lindsey Cirne, Megan Rudden, Kelly Weckstein, and Jaime Connors. Rounding out the top 7 was Adrianna Liberato and Krissy DeRobertis. The girls are 6-0 on the season and are looking forward to running at the state's premiere course, Holmdel Park, on Saturday. 
     
  • Congratulations to the boys xc team for their win over Harrison. The boys were led by Andrew Ellis, Billy Weckstein, Ethan Hughes, Giancarlo Sirio, Matt Sales, Paolo Turano, and Jared Gabriel. The boys look to improve upon their 4-2 record next week.Girls Freshman Volleyball versus Nutley – Away – Nutley High School – 4:00 p.m.

September 28, 2016:

  • Congratulations to the girls varsity soccer team for their 6-0 victory over Secaucus yesterday. Captain Amanda Fulcher led the way with 2 goals and 2 assists. Giulia Pezzolla had a nice game finishing with 2 goals. Jen Wartel and Gabby Carrion tallied a goal and Taylor Sanchez, Danielle Anthony, and Grace Cappiello chipped in with an assist each. The defense played well and recorded their 4th shut out in a row. The girls now await the winner of Pascack Hills and Saddle Brook in the county tournament. Come out Sunday at noon and support the girls for their first home county game in 13 years.

September 26, 2016:

  • Congratulations to the girls jv and varsity soccer teams for their wins against Harrison on Friday. The varsity squad was powered by Giulia Pezzolla and Mia Luna. Pezzolla had 2 goals and 1 assist and Luna had 1 goal and 2 assists. Danielle Anthony, Alyssa Engels, and Gabby Carrion added a goal a piece, Amanda Fulcher had 2 assists, and Gianna Fallacara added an assist. The defense posted their second straight shutout. Way to go girls. 

September 22, 2016:

  • Congratulations to the girls varsity soccer team for their victory over Ridgefield yesterday. The golden bears defeated the royals 4-0 behind a nice performance by Giulia Pezzolla. Pezzolla had one goal and two assists. Gianna Fallacara, Alyssa Engels, and Taylor Sanchez also scored a goal. Mia Luna and Grace Cappiello chipped in with an assist each. The defense was led by Claudia Engels and posted their 3rd shutout of the season. Congratulations ladies.
     
  • Congrats to the Girls' Cross country team for sweeping their dual meet yesterday against Rutherford and Garfield. The girls shutout Garfield 15-44 and toppled Rutherford 26-33. The girls were led to victory by Freshman Gizette Perez, Senior Lindsay Cirne, Juniors Megan Rudden, Kelly Weckstein, Adriana Liberto, Alexis Gerbasio, and Sophomore Jamie Connors. The Girls moved to 4-0 in the league. Also, congrats to the boys who moved to 3-1 by defeating Garfield 17-46.

September 19, 2016:

  • Congratulations to the girls varsity soccer team for their hard fought 2-1 victory over Dwight Englewood on Saturday. Mia Luna scored in the opening 5 minutes on a feed from Amanda Fulcher. Grace Cappiello set up Giulia Pezzolla in the first overtime to score the winning goal. Congratulations ladies. 
     
  • Congratulations to the Freshmen Football Team on their first high school win on Friday over Elmwood Park 42-16. Quarterback Anthony Lembo led the offensive attack with 2 passing touchdowns, 1 rushing touchdown, and 2 successful two point conversions. Jarret Webber rushed for over 100 yards and added 2 rushing touchdowns to the mix. John Rodriguez, Mike Failace, and Chris McClauclin also added a touchdown a piece and turned in great performances. Defensively, Linebackers Chris Mcclauclin and Joe Cutola led the way and combined for over 20 tackles in the game as the defense held Elmwood Park scoreless into the 3rd quarter.  Excellent job all around boys!

September 13, 2016:

  • Boys soccer improved to 2-0 on the season with a 4-2 win.  Vincent Ditonto continued his scoring by netting his 5th goal of the early season. Adrian Baranowski had a goal an assist.  Anthony Oliveira added 2 goals. (1 on penalty kick) and Luis Yolianes added an assist along with Gino glovers 6 saves in goal earning him his first varsity win.  Next game Friday at Dwight Englewood. 

September 12, 2016:

  • Congratulations to the girls soccer team for their varsity and JV victories over Leonia on Friday. Both squads Beat Leonia by a score of 6-0.  The varsity squad was led by Amanda Fulcher who scored two goals and had two assists. Mia Luna had two goals and Gabby carrion and giulia Pezzolla each had a goal. Gianna Fallacara had two assists and Jen Wartel and  Claudia Engels chipped in with an assist each. Way to go girls.

September 9, 2016:

  • Congratulations to the Boys soccer team as they started their season with a 6-0 win against Leonia. Flavio Barrios started off the scoring for the golden bears 2016 season with a goal just outside the 18 yard box on a feed from Adrian Baronowski, who also assisted on one of Vincent Ditontos four goals.  Raymond Valenzuella added a goal and 2 assists, Anthony Oliveira had a lone assist while Milton Rua made 5 saves and earned his first shutout of the season.  Boys soccer starts off the season 1-0.
