Coach Rich Tuero
Physical Education Teacher
Head Football Coach

Rich Tuero is a graduate of Lyndhurst High School, Class of 2002, received his teaching degree from Montclair State University, and his Masters Degree from Ohio University. He has been a physical education, unified physical education, and driver education teacher at LHS since 2009, as well as Head Football Coach and Head Girls Track and Field Coach. He also launched the Girl’s Flag Football program at LHS and coached for our Unified program. Coach Tuero has been named Bergen County Coach of the Year in 2019, NJIC Liberty Division Football Coach of the Year in 2018, 2019, and 2023, the NJIC Liberty Division Girls Track and Field Coach of the Year in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and the New York Giants Coach of the Week in 2019. He helped bring a Football Sectional State Championship to our town for the first time in thirty-six years and several league championships to the Football and Track and Field Teams. Coach Tuero also has had the time of his life participating in the school musical for several years, helping to bridge the gap between sports and the arts. Being selected as the Teacher of the Year is a huge honor for Coach Tuero because his dedication to the students of Lyndhurst High School is unparalleled. He is the true definition of the phrase “bleeds blue and gold” and nothing is more important to Coach Tuero than helping his students and players grow into successful adults. Coach Tuero is married to his high school sweetheart, Koriann, and they have two beautiful daughters, Sophia and Camila.
