Mrs. Maria Rojas
Spanish Teacher
Mrs. Rojas demonstrates excellent knowledge of the subject content and effectively communicates the content to her students through well-planned lessons. She has exceptional classroom presence and creates a respectful environment that is conducive to learning. 100% of her students passed the AP Spanish Language and Culture test. She coordinates the Seal of Biliteracy for all bilingual students. Last year, 37 students earned the Seal of Biliteracy in seven languages: Albanian, Arabic, Gujarati, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish. She is the Co-advisor of the World Language Honor Society. Mrs. Rojas has positive rapport with her students, parents, colleagues and administration and is well respected in our school community.
Ms. Susan Leidemer
School Counselor
Susan Leidemer is exceptionally skilled as a school counselor and goes above and beyond for the entire LHS community. She has impacted the Lyndhurst district since her start, but her presence has benefited the high school over the past three years. She is extremely organized, facilitates parent meetings effectively and runs many programs in the high school, including MacLean Awards Scholarship Night, Stigma-Free, and the NJDOE Awareness Weeks. She is the HIB coordinator, ABS, and assists students with substance abuse problems. She is empathic, approachable, and extremely professional and is an asset to Lyndhurst High School.
